Your Guide to a

Perfectly Fitting Bra

Find Your Bra Size

In just a few steps, learn how to measure yourself and find the perfect size with the bra experts at Adore Me!

1. Measure your ribcage / underbust

Wrap a measuring tape around your back and bring the ends of the tape forward—keeping it directly under your bust and parallel to the floor. Make sure it’s snug, but not too tight. This number (in inches) will help you determine what band size you should typically look for in a bra.

2. Measure your bust

Now wrap the measuring tape around your back and bring the ends of the tape forward across the fullest part of your bust—again keeping it snug, but not too tight. This number (in inches) will help you determine what cup size you should typically look for in a bra.

3. Calculate your size

Subtract your ribcage measurement from your bust measurement. The difference of these two measurements (in inches) will determine your cup size using the measurement charts below. For example: A difference of 4 inches is an A cup, a difference of 5 inches is a B cup, and so on.

Find the Right Style for You

Illustration of bralette

Bralette

A bralette is soft, lightweight, and gives gentle support. Ranging from romantic lace to casual knit, bralettes are easy to wear and perfect for visible styling.

Balconette

A balconette bra has a square-neck shape with wide-set straps and low-cut cups that sit horizontally across your bust. Designed to lift and frame, balconettes give you a perky and supported look — and are perfect for tops with open necklines.

Plunge

A plunge bra has the deepest V-shaped neckline, with angled cups that push inward and upward for a supportive lift. Designed to disappear under low-cut tops, plunge bras are great for when you want to show a little extra cleavage.

Demi

A demi bra has cups that reveal the top of your breast tissue, like a halfway point between a balconette and plunge bra. With an inward tilt that comfortably lifts and rounds your bust, demi bras are best for versatility and perfect for everyday wear.

Full Coverage

A full-coverage bra has taller cups that fully encase your breast tissue for maximum coverage. Designed to support and minimize spilling, full-coverage bras are a go-to for when you want your bra to disappear under fitted tops.

Wireless

A wireless bra can come with any level of padding in the cups, but comfortably lifts and supports without wires.

An unlined bra doesn’t have foam or pads, but still lifts.

Lightly Lined

A lightly lined bra has a thin layer of foam that completely covers your nipple and gently lifts your bust for a naturally rounded shape.

Push-Up

A push-up bra has more padding at the bottom of the cups to hold and enhance your cleavage. Sometimes these pads are removable for customizable lift.

Add Two Cups

A super push-up bra has extra padding that adds the appearance of up to 2 cup sizes to your bust, with maximum cleavage.

FAQ

How should a bra fit?

A well-fitting bra should feel snug around your ribcage without being uncomfortable. The band should sit level across your back, the cups should fully contain your breast tissue without gaps or spillage, and the center gore (the fabric between the cups) should lie flat against your chest. Your straps should provide light support but shouldn't dig into your shoulders.

Why do my bra straps keep slipping?

Slipping straps are often a sign that your band is too loose or the straps need adjusting. In some cases, it may simply be that the bra style isn't the best match for your shoulder shape. A properly fitted band should provide most of the support, allowing the straps to sit comfortably without constantly slipping.

Will my size be the same across different bra styles?

Different bra styles are designed with different levels of coverage, support, and shaping. A plunge bra, balconette, or full coverage bra may all fit slightly differently, even if they're the same size. That's completely normal, and you may find that certain styles suit your shape better than others.

Yes. Every Adore Me bra is sized according to its silhouette and fabric, so your size stays consistent whether you choose a plunge, balconette, or full coverage style. What changes from style to style is the final look, because each one is designed to do something different: a plunge creates a deeper neckline and centered shape, a balconette lifts and gives a rounded look on top, and a full coverage bra smooths and supports with more fabric. You may find you prefer certain styles over others, but that comes down to your anatomy and the kind of lift or shape you like, not your size.

When should I replace my bras?

With regular wear and proper care, most bras last between 6 and 12 months. If the band has stretched out, the cups have lost their shape, the underwire is damaged, or the bra no longer provides the support you expect, it's time for a replacement.
